After a relaxing break over Christmas all the residents are now back at House Otto and along with our staff would like to wish everybody reading this post the very best for 2014. May all prosper and grow this year and may each and everyone be eager to face and conquer which ever challenges it may bring.
Along with the festive season and the rest we had we also mobilized and went to collect pledges for the ‘Buckle-up’ campaign. This is a campaign run by our National office where members go to garages on some of the main routes to encourage motorists and motor cyclists to sign a pledge to wear their seatbelts and to be safe on our roads in an effort to try and reduce the amount of debilitating accidents on our roads. House Otto residents deployed at the Engen Highveld One-stop on the R21 near Olifantsfontein on 06, 13 and 20 December 2013 and again on 11 January 2014 and managed to get 649 pledges.
We are looking forward to the start of the building of our staff quarters at our property in Kempton Park this month so that we can move there in the very near future. This will enable us to broaden our outreach activities to those in our surrounding area and hopefully we can in this way make a meaningful difference.
Towards the end of 2013 we also registered our printing business, Page by Page Printing, as an income generator for House Otto and hopefully with your support we can generate enough income on a monthly basis to make a huge difference to our expenses. We provide quality paper products i.e. manuals, pamphlets, calendars, stationery, etc. at an affordable price. Please contact us with your requirements so that we may be able to give you a reasonable quotation.
Until our next post keep safe, don’t drink and drive, keep your following distance and consider those around you so that we may all return to our loved ones safely each time we go on the road.
