January 2013

All the residents at House Otto are fit and healthy and ready to take on the inevitable challenges we will have to face during 2013.

Renovations on the property in Kempton Park is going well and we will be submitting our building plans for the staff quarters as soon as consent use is granted. This should be done towards the second half of the year. All residents and staff are looking forward to the move later this year so that we can start a new chapter.

We hope that once we have moved we will be able to assist and support the disabled community of Kempton Park and the surrounding areas as we have been doing in our communities since 1984.

Our annual golf day will be taking place towards September/October. News on this fun event will follow as soon as a date and venue has been set. Interested people can start by getting their 4-balls together. We also always need prizes and hole sponsorships so if you are interested in becoming involved please contact us. We have a good friend who does our auction every year and we are looking forward to having him being a part of the day again this year.

We would like to encourage people to become involved with House Otto as we are not only a Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) but also a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) which means that donations made to us are tax deductible.

May you be richly blessed and remember to be safe by:

  1. Not drinking and driving
  2. Keeping a safe following distance
  3. Keeping to the speed limit
  4. Wearing your seatbelt
  5. Not using your cell phone for calls or texting while driving
  6. Watching out for pedestrians, people on motorbikes and people on bicycles
  7. Not diving into water as you don’t know what is under the water or how deep the water is
